Not a true parsley, but has a similar flavor and culinary use. Also called Japanese hornwort or Japanese parsley. Mitsuba means "three leaves' in Japanese. Long, slender stalks have trefoil leaves similar to flat parsley. Leaves and stalks used as flavoring in soups and salads. Originally a woodland plants and prefers part shade and moist soil. Will bolt in hot, dry conditions and can aggressively self-seed. Great for microgreens. Perennial but most often grown as an annual. Chryptotaenia japonica. SSE Accession # 114532
