Pimiento de Padron

Hot, bell-shaped to triangular pimiento pepper. Some variability in size and shape. Standard flavor. Slightly sweet and highly pungent for a pimiento. Fruit mature from green to red. Slightly wrinkled skin. Blunt blossom end. Slightly corrugated body. Walls are fairly thin. Ripe fruit 3-3.8" long; 1.7-2" wide, and 1.2-1.7oz. Plants 2-2.5' tall. Green leaves and stems with purple nodes. White flowers. Moderate to high yielding. Mid-season maturing. C. annuum. SSE Accession # 117954
