Landegurke Ashley

Dark green fruit with pale green stripes at blossom end. White spines on prominent warts. Superficial ribbing. Round in cross section. Pale green flesh. Dense flesh, thick skin. Not very juicy and not especially crisp. Texture and flavor reminiscent of zucchini. Fruit 5-8" long, 1.7-2.2" wide, and 5-10oz. Seed mature fruit yellow, 8-9" long, 2.4-2.8" wide, and 1.1-1.5lbs. Average productivity; mid-season maturing when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Donaline Rogers (CA RO D2) who received this variety in 2001 from Nancy Arrowsmith (AZ AR N). Arrowsmith indicated it's an old Austrian commercial variety. SSE Accession # 109393
