Pole bean, bushy at base, with moderate twining tendencies. White flowers. Green pods become yellow as they mature. Straight, flat pods with medium beak length. Pods average 5" long by 1/2" wide. Weak suture string becomes strong as pods expand. Snap bean. Also good as shelling bean with rich flavor and smooth texture. Easy to shell. Dry beans have standard flavor and texture. Average productivity. Leathery dry pods average 5-7 seeds per pod. Navy bean. Mid-season maturing. This variety was donated to SSE by member Tom Knoche (OH KN T) who described it in the 1993 SSE Yearbook Exchange as an "Ohio heirloom given to me by elderly lady, grandaughter of Grandma Fultz, so this one goes back quite a while."
