Tennessee Red

Red skinned Valencia peanuts with thin, longitudinal purple stripes. Commonly 2-3 seeds per pod, sometimes four. Large seeds. Pods have slight to moderate constriction and slight reticulation characteristic of the fastigiata type. Flowers are present on the main stem. Purple blushed stems. Pods are 1.5-2" long and 0.5-0.6" wide. Very good, sweet flavor. Donated to SSE by William Arthur, Jr (IA AR W) who acquired this variety from Parks Seed Co (CV Par) and grew it in Iowa for over 30 years. SSE Accession # 116004
