Large, elongated moon and stars type. Yellow belly when ripe. 12-18" long, 6-8" wide, 10-15lbs with some up to 20lbs. Red flesh. Thick rind (0.75"). Excellent, crisp texture. Moderately sweet. Brix 10.3. Not stringy. Black speckled seeds. Mid-season maturing. Medium-low productivity in 2020 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Joe Patterson. Originally from Sand Mt, AL in the 1940s.
