Katahdin

This is botanical seed harvested from potato seed berries which self-pollinated [not a controlled cross] therefore the TPS name matches with the female parent which self or cross pollinated with unknown male parent. Interesting note for this variety: the International Genebank grows Katahdin plants in their greenhouse for the purpose of pollen production. In order to get more flowers, and more pollen, the plants are grown pulled off the soil, and all tubers are removed.
