Short-top, green leaves ranging from entire to strongly lyrate. Yellow, transverse-elliptic roots grow half-buried in soil, yellow flesh, averaging 1.2" length, 2" diameter, 2.5 oz. Greens very prickly with poor flavor. Roots have very good flavor, not bitter, good texture, moderately sweet. Donated to SSE in 1998 by Clive Blazey of The Diggers Club in Australia. He received this variety in 1998 from Mrs. Hjortman-Punbbinen, an elderly Finnish seed saver in Yosemite, NSW, Australia. SSE Accession # 127692
