Ram's Horn

Highly pungent pepper. Cayenne type. C. annuum. Excellent flavor beneath the heat. A staff favorite in 2015. Long, pointed, twisted, curved fruit ripen from green to red. Pendant. Wrinkled skin. Fruit measure ~5" long and 1" wide and weigh ~0.8oz. Moderately thin flesh. Plants reach 2.25ft tall and have an open branching habit. Highly productive when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Early maturing. SSE received this variety from Lester Hileman (IN HI L) who got it from Jim Fischer of Elkhart, Indiana. Fischer's family grew this variety in Asheville, North Carolina since circa 1885. SSE Accession # 116019
