Red, elongate fruit. Nice flavor but quite hot. Fruit are twisted/spiraled and have wrinkled skin, resembling a ram's horn. Fruit have some corking. Walls are thin and pliable, making the fruit somewhat soft. Yellow-green like a banana pepper when immature. Ripe fruit measure 5-8" long, 1" wide. Plants 1.5-2' tall. Moderately productive. Mid-season maturing. C. annuum. Originally from the family of Emily Eidson of Lexington, South Carolina. Emily's parents and grandparents grew this pepper for as long as Emily could remember. In 1984 when Emily was 81 years old, she shared seed with SSE member Curtis Choplin (SC CH C) through the South Carolina Market Bulletin. Choplin later donated seeds of the variety to SSE in 1990.
