Desaranto Potato

Single Image
VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-POLE
Semi Runner/Dry. I have the spelling on this bean on this listing incorrect. It should be Deseronto. 95 days to first dry pod pods. An Abenaki nation variety given to me by a Seneca man who lives in Pennsylvania. The Bean has been grown by the Iroquois, and Seneca people of North America. Moderately climbing plants can be raised as a pole bean or on the ground as a half runner bush. Late to mature but can be successfully grown in my zone 5 climate. Native Americans often used this beans as a thickener in soup or mashed like potatoes. Source Phil Onodowaga in Pennsylvania '14.
