Pole/snap bean. Pods ripen from green with purple dashes/stripes to yellow with purple dashes/stripes. Pods are straight to recurved with a medium long beak. Suture string present. Large pods 5.5-9.5" long and 0.4-0.65" wide. 7-10 seeds per pod. Dry pods leathery. White flowers. White seeds. Mid season maturing and low productivity when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. Snap beans moderately tender with a firm texture. Not particularly juicy with a standard flavor. Might be good for pickling (dilly beans). Inedible when fully expanded. Donated to SSE by Christie Higgenbottom (MA OL S) who indicated that this variety is originally from John Withee and the Wanigan Associates.
