Snowcap

VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-POLE
Pole dry bean. Ripe in 90 days. In good years with enough rain (before 2014), very productive 6' vines. 5-6" green pods (measured tip to tip straight across), 4.5" across dry, with up to 6 attractive large seeds, 5/8"x1/4"x1/4", pale pinkish tan with purple streaks and a pure white area on spine ("snow"). Some seeds are mostly purplish without the tan, but with the white 'cap', 3/4" x1/2"x1/4". Said to be good shell beans too. Seed resembles Hidatsa Shield Figure or Papa de Rola. Low yield. 10 or 15 seeds from 2020 or 2021 or 2023. I grew this variety from 2010-2013 from seed received from Gail Fitzgerald (VA) and then lost it. Got it again from MI SC R.
