Roots are flattened globes, white with a slight gold tint, the shoulders green and purple, 1-1.4" long and 1.25-2" wide, about 2 oz. in weight, with no roots hairs and the top 1" exposed above the ground. Plants 15" wide. Leaves medium green, lyrate, erect, 11" long, hairy on both sides, the petioles white with some green on the back and the midveins white. Grown by Gene Forster in 2020 for the Collection Documentation Project; he reported that the roots are crunchy with a spicy, strong turnip flavor when raw, also spicy when cooked. Peter Erdlandsson (SWED ER P) introduced this variety into the Exchange in 1996. Erdlandsson obtained this Norwegian variety from the NordGen genebank where it's accession number NGB 5019.
