Indeterminate, regular leaf. Red, slightly flattened, beefsteak tomato. Strongly ribbed. Moderately to deeply recessed stem end. Fasciated fruit, cat-face appearance common. Moderate to severe radial cracking on most fruit. Susceptible to sun scald. Fruit usually borne singly or in pairs. Fruit size variable, depending on presence/absence of fasciation; 2.2-2.9" long, 2.8-4.6" wide, 5-13oz. Good flavor; low acid; moderately sweet; somewhat tough skin; juicy; soft to moderate firmness. Highly exserted style. Mid-season maturity. Average productivity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by the Rev. C. Frank Morrow (MN MO C). This was Morrow's favorite variety. Grown by his family since 1916 and originally from Germany. Morrow stated the fruits can be canned with the skins on. SSE Accession # 121516
