VEGETABLES / BEAN
DRY-BUSH
I purchased these seeds from High Mowing Organic Seeds in 2014. High Mowing History: Legend has it that it was a gift from Maine's Passamaquoddy Indians to Joseph Clark, the first white child born in Lubec, Maine.
Bjorn's Description: (Phaseolus vulgaris) Kidney sized dry beans that are white with a maroon speckles. 24” tall plants. White blossoms with pinkish hue on upper petals. Green with pink striped straight pods. In 2015, plants had between 5-19 pods per plant. Pods have 4-6 beans each. Heavy producers. They are a fantastic culinary bean and retain most of their color and shape when cooked. I like using them in burritos, for making refried beans, and for baked beans. I highly recommend! Seed produced in 2017.
