Pole/dry/snap. Multipurpose bean. Good texture, flavor, and moderately sweet as a snap. Dry beans hold up well to cooking and are sweet and creamy. Short, straight, bright green immature pods become more constricted as they mature. Fully expanded immature pods measure 3.0-4.0" long and 0.4-0.6" wide. Mature pods are dark yellow with a light pink stripe pattern. 6-7 seeds per pod. Small golden brown seeds have squared ends. Moderately climbing plants have white flowers. Moderate to low productivity when grown on Heritage Farm in 2018. Snaps in early July. Dry pods in mid August. SSE purchased this variety from the Abundant Life Seed Foundation (CV Abu), who indicated this variety is a rare heirloom originally from Germany and dates to the 1700s. SSE Accession # 105255
