VEGETABLES / TOMATO
RED
Variety is said to come from a Celine Soupel, long-time gardener that lived in the late 1800-mid 1900s near Sens-de-Bretagne, France. I came by it via a former customer around 2009 that sent it in with the hopes that my boss would offer it in the mail order catalog I worked for at the time. The customer had obtained it from a neighbor that was a gardener and originally from the Bretagne region of France. My boss only bought from vendors, so the seed was sent home with me. Plants produce medium-large, round to sometimes slightly pointed, red tomatoes with great flavor. Very dependable and seems to be quite disease resistant. Vines are very strong – one of the best when we get the occasional wind storm. Regular leaves, semi-determinate (although they act more like an indeterminate, but never grow past 4 feet tall). About 65-70 days to maturity after transplanting.
