Pole/snap. Good flavor and texture, sweet. Moderately climbing plants have white flowers. Immature green, flat pods turn yellow at maturity. Fully expanded immature beans measure 5.2-6.3" long and 0.5" wide. Two pods per raceme. 7-8 seeds per pod. Medium sized white oblong to kidney shaped seeds. Moderately productive when grown on Heritage Farm in 2018. Snaps mid July. Donated to SSE by Charles Hoehnle (IA HO C). This variety was grown in the communal kitchen gardens of the Amana Colonies of eastern Iowa; originally brought to the from Germany in the 1840s. SSE Accession # 105298
