Zucchini Black

C. pepo zucchini. At the market mature stage fruit are green with light green speckles. They are straight with moderate ribbing at the stem end that extends the whole length of the fruit, though to a lesser degree. Fruit is 2" in dimeter, 7-9" long, and 14 oz. The plants are non-vining, rather they are bushy and quite leafy which makes harvest somewhat difficult. During the 2021 growout at Heritage Farm, the plants were unproductive. They have a very mild flavor and a somewhat rubbery texture. SSE Accession # 133513
