FRUITS-BERRIES-NUTS / APPLE

Scion wood. Please order during dormant season, be ready to graft when received.
A natural spur mutation from a McIntosh tree with an extremely upright, columnar habit, called a "ballerina" growth habit in the UK led to all columnar apple trees and their cross-bred descendents.
Vigorous, healthy tree with taste and genetics similar to McIntosh, except for the growth habit. Happily grown in a large container, or in the ground, where it will grow quite a bit taller, depending on the rootstock it is grafted onto.
Needs a pollenizer. Any variety that pollenizes "McIntosh" will do.
In 2023, we had a "once-in-generation" snowstorm. Due to its growth habit, this was the only of apple varieties that didn't experience *any* snow load damage. All others, including "Kandil Sinap," which also has an upright growth habit although less so, suffered loss of scaffold limbs.
Also, this variety will set fruit almost from the ground up, which resulted in low-set fruit with no coddling moths.
