Globe tomato. Dark red fruit is rounded to oblate measures 1.85-2.2 inches in diameter and weigh up to 6 ounces. Fruit found in clusters of 2 to 9. Indeterminate plants with standard leaves and have inserted styles. Very minor cracking. Above average productivity and mid-season maturing when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Average eating qualities. Donated to SSE by Hugh & Barbara Havercamp. The variety was grown by Barbara's father, Ralph Mead Thompson of Woburn, MA. Reportedly originally from a Captain Mead who acquired the tomato in 1711 on a voyage to Argentina where he traded for seed from the Salado Valley. SSE Accession # 127395
