Pole. Snap bean. Plants are vigorous with a strong twining tendency. White flowers. Green immature pods become yellow at maturity. A few pods have a very faint red blush. Curved, flat pods have a long beak. Mature pods average 4.5" long by 0.4" wide. Weak suture string. Tender and juicy snap bean. Standard productivity. Leathery dry pods average 6-7 seeds per pod. Navy bean with standard flavor. Late maturing. The variety was donated to SSE by John Coykendall (TN CO J) of Walland, Tennessee in 2008. John Coykendall is a Tennessee native and has stewarded seeds and documented oral histories from the American South for over forty years. According to John, this variety came from an unknown person at a seed swap in the mountain region of western North Carolina in 1996. SSE Accession # 129225
