Pole bean, vigorous with a strong twining tendency. White flowers. Green immature pods become yellow at maturity. A few pods have a very faint red blush. Curved, flat pods have a long beak. Mature pods average 4.5" long by 0.4" wide. Weak suture string. Tender and juicy snap bean. Standard productivity. Leathery dry pods average 6-7 seeds per pod. Navy bean with standard flavor. Late maturing. The variety was donated to SSE by John Coykendall (TN CO J) of Walland, Tennessee in 2008. John Coykendall is a Tennessee native and has stewarded seeds and documented oral histories from the American South in specific Washington Parish, Louisiana for over forty years. According to John, this variety came from an unknown person at a seed swap in the mountain region of western North Carolina in 1996. SSE Accession # 129225
