Poole's

Large, bushy plants reaching 3.5-5' tall. Long and slender green pods curve slightly. Prickly pods with 6-9 ridges. Green leaves with red veins. Petioles are red near leaf attachment and green below. Seed mature pods reach 9-12" long and 0.75-1" in diameter. Best eaten under 4" long. Standard flavor and texture. Late maturing. Highly productive when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE circa 1982 by L. Arlie Gray (MO GR L, formerly OK GR L). Originally obtained by Gray circa 1974 from Barney Poole, Moselle, MS. Grown by the Poole family in Palestine, TX since at least 1914. SSE Accession # 113980
