POPCORN
A brown popcorn, as the name suggests, but with lots of other color variations. Many ears are speckled with yellow and brown kernels of various shades. Some kernels have a red, or purple tinge. Ears 5-7 inches long. Kernel row numbers vary from 12 up to 20 per ear. Kernels are small and rounded. White cobs. Tall, bushy plants with high biomass: 8-9 feet tall, 3-5 tillers per plant. 2-5 ears per plant. Poor husk cover. Mid-season maturing. This variety was donated to SSE by William Sigl (TX SI B).
