Beautiful variety with purple on the inner leaf petioles, especially near the base; Outer leaves and petioles are a medium to dark green; Semi-erect plants; Rather long petioles relative to other celery varieties. Tough and stringy texture with very little flesh besides the strings; dry; a little bit bitter. Plants are 14-20 inches high and 18-27 inches wide with 14-17 inch long stems. This variety was donated to SSE in 2017 by Sylvia Davatz (VT DA S). Sylvia obtained this variety from Salt Spring Seeds sometime around 2001. SSE Accession # 133216
