Giant Long Yellow Sweet

Narrowly branching plants approximately 2' tall. Long, blocky fruit ripens from green to yellow. Fruit average 6-8" long, 2" wide at the widest point, 9oz. Very sweet, good flavor, good flesh texture, juicy, thin skin. When grown in 2010 and 2012, fruit set was very low and fruit tended to rot before fully ripened. This variety was donated to SSE by Ermal Kuhns (IN KU E), likely in the early 1990s. Kuhn's purchased it as fruit in the produce section of his local grocery store. It was originally imported from Holland and distributed by Sun World International LLC. SSE Accession # 116472
