Kamo

Round, dark purple fruit, born singly. Dark purple stems and pedicels. Leaves green with purple blush, intermediate lobing. Purple flowers born singly or in pairs. Market mature fruit average 4.8" long, 4.2" wide and 1.3 lbs. Standard eating qualities. Mid-season maturing. Obtained by SSE from CV Kitazawa Seed Co. A traditional variety from the area near Kamo, Japan and grown in that region for hundreds of years. Kitazawa recommends it for stuffing, frying, baking, and grilling. Previously distributed by SSE under the misspelled name 'Kamu'. SSE Accession # 109699
