C. chinense. Hot pepper. Very small fruits mature from green to yellow to orange. Fruits are wrinkly with a pointed or sunken blossom end. Fruit can be either erect or pendant. Fruits measure 0.4-0.8 inches long and 0.4-0.5 inches wide. Plants have green and purple stems and yellow-green flowers. Plants up to 2 feet tall and rather bushy and branched. Highly productive when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. These little fruits pack a punch, but have a nice fruity flavor. This accession was donated to SSE in 1998 by Christopher Andreas (NJ AN C) who received it in the mid 1990s from the Southern Regional Plant Introduction Station in Griffin, GA. It is originally from Brazil and has been shared in the SSE Exchange for at least 20 years. SSE Accession # 117625
