Bush bean to be used as a dry bean. Seeds are large, kidney shaped, and mottled purple and tan. They are not hard seeded. It is earthy and bland in flavor. Plants have pink flowers with relatively wide and flat pods. Pod length 5.5-6.7in. Mid season maturing. Donated to SSE in 1981 by bean collector John Withee of Lynnfield, Massachusetts and the Wanigan Associates. John Withee acquired this variety from Merrill Heath of Vermont. SSE Accession # 101239
