Syrup sorghum. Brix score: 10.2. Tall plants reach 10-11ft and commonly have 2-3 tillers. Compact, erect panicles; 9-11" long. Medium-sized, light brown grains are mostly covered by brown glumes. Grains are mostly floury. ~3000-4000 grains per panicle. Late maturing. Donated to SSE by Paul Simon (KS SI P) who acquired this variety in 1988 from Frank Plemmons (OK PL F). When Plemmons listed this variety in the SSE Exchange during the late 1980s and early 1990s, he indicated that it was from the Kentucky mountains. SSE Accession # 119293
