Alston Purple Hull

Pleasant tasting, moderately productive, indeterminate cowpea that produces 1-2 cowpeas per peduncle. Slightly curved pods are 7-10 inches long with 7-19 cowpeas per pod and are highly variable in color, displaying both green and purple pods and pods that are a combination of both. The cowpeas, at maturity can be either tan or black and have a pleasant, average cowpea taste. Plants have variable foliage and light violet flowers. SSE Accession # 109014
