Red Velvet

Attractive plants with bright red stems. Pods are solid red, long, slender, and ridged. Good flavor and texture. Best for eating under 4" long. Non-prickly pods. Dry pods reach 8-10" long. Plants tall, vigorous. This accession came to SSE from Robert Wood (KS WO R) circa 1988. By name, 'Red Velvet' okra has been shared in the SSE Exchange for more than 20 years. However, we do not yet know where Mr. Wood acquired this particular strain. SSE Accession # 114019
