Eriobotyra japonia. Also known as Japanese Plum, Chinese Plum and Maltese Plum. A large evergreen shrub/small tree that often grows to over 10 feet. Flowers in late fall or early winter and produces fruit in late winter and early spring. Fruits are 1-2 inches long, orange, and sweet/tangy. Cold and heat tolerant. From Friendship Farms and Fair. Grown in Florida delta watershed. Can take a freeze and can also take 95 degree heat. Beautiful trees. Produces fruit in as little as three years. The seeds are fairly sizable; 10 seeds/packet.
