Dixie Golden Giant

Light yellow beefsteak. Very meaty; few seeds. Fruit average 4.5" in diameter, 1lb. Moderate radial cracking; slight blossom end rot in 2011 & 2012 growouts. Moderate acidity; slightly sweet; good flavor. Late maturity. Indeterminate; regular leaf; inserted flower stigma. Donated to SSE by Ron Thuma (KS TH R) who received this variety from Mrs. M. Zaccaria (NJ ZA M). It's originally from Austin Isaacs (KY IS A). Reportedly grown by an Amish family since the 1930s. SSE Accession # 124550
