Brassica napus (Siberian kale). Smooth-leaved. Compact, low-growing plants with dense rosette of leaves. Blue-green leaves and light green petioles. High leaf bloom. Spatulate-shaped, lobed leaves with minute teeth. Mature plants average 1.5-2' tall and 3-5' wide. Raw leaves are somewhat bitter and tough. Steamed leaves have distinct mustard flavor; moderately bitter; slightly sweet. Flavor somewhat variable from leaf to leaf. Given to SSE by Lloyd Baum (WI BA L) who received this variety from Pam Baggett of North Carolina via a National Gardening Association (NGA) seed swap. SSE Accession # 111133
