Louisiana Queen

Medium-large, round, uniform fruit. Light green rind with dark green stripes from stem to blossom end and fine green mottling in-between. Fruit measured 7-9" long and 7-9" in diameter and weighed 6-11 lbs. in 2012 drought year at Heritage Farm. Red flesh. Great texture, good flavor. Sweet and juicy. Thin rind. White seeds. Early maturing. Acquired by SSE through Glenn Drowns (IA DR G); from the National Center for Genetic Resources Preservation (NCGRP). SSE Accession # 127930
