Green, prickly pods are straight or slightly curved. 4-4.5', green plants with some red pigmentation in the stem. Dry pods measure 7-9" long by 1.5" in diameter. 6-9 distinct ridges per pod. Pods are best eaten under 4" long. Good flavor with a slightly floral aftertaste. No lodging. Plants suffered from bacterial wilt in 2014 growout at Heritage Farm. Acquired by SSE from Peaceable Kingdom School (TX PE K) in the 1990s. Originally from the family of Carol Henry of Texas and one which her father, Dink Hendrick, had at that time been growing for several decades in Texas. SSE Accession # 114073
