Inflorescences a spike, at least 4 vertical spikes approximately 1/2 the inflorescence length. A few inflorescences are solid red, others are mostly yellow; most are marbled with some combination of red-purple and yellow. Stem amaranthine striped with pink or red base. Blade elliptic. Leaves solid green; others green with red margins and veins; others have a light purple blush on the blade. Petiole ranges from solid light green to light amaranthine, to dark amaranthine. Lodging. Plants 4.8-6.0' tall. Branching along the stem. Seed white. Used as a grain. This variety came to SSE in the 1980s from the Seeds Blum (CV Se2) seed company of Boise, Idaho. SSE Accession # 100018
