Single Image
FRUITS-BERRIES-NUTS / APPLE
Medium sized, round to round-conic fruit. The skin is yellow with faint red blush when exposed to sun, with a suture line that is sometimes well defined. The flesh is fine-grained, white, firm, and crisp, moderately juicy. Tree is vigorous, upright, and spreading. It is an all-purpose fruit, historically used for cooking, baking, and pickling. Ripens in October in Zone 4. DNA tested in 2023 and confirmed correct. One of America’s oldest apple varieties, Tolman Sweet’s origins are unknown.
