Berens Green

Bush, snap bean. Nice overall green bean flavor and texture. Sweet, stringless, and fairly juicy. Pods round, slightly curved, 5-6" long. 6-8 brown seeds per pod. Seeds have distinct slate-colored eye ring. Early maturing. Average productivity. SSE member David L. Thompson (IA TH D) of Okoboji, Iowa, shared this variety with SSE in the 1990s. He indicated that the beans were brought to Dickinson County, IA in 1900 by covered wagon. SSE Accession # 103862
