Ralph's Italian Heirloom

Pole. Snap bean. Pods are green, curved, and very flat with a weak suture string. Strong green bean flavor, crunchy, juicy, slightly astringent. Pods develop light red stripes as they mature. Pods reach 5.5-6.5" long, 0.5-0.6" wide. 6-8 seeds per pod. Large, beautiful, buff colored seeds with purple-red mottling. Dry beans have strong flavor and dense texture. Plants are strongly climbing with large leaves. Pink flowers. Average productivity when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Long season. SSE Accession # 102899
