SHELLING
Shelling pea. Straight, green pods measuring 3-3.5" long and containing 4-6 peas. Peas are flavorful, tender, moist, and buttery. One or more often two pods per peduncle. Shattering dry pods. Large, yellow, wrinkled seeds. Vigorous plants grow 5-6' tall with little or no basal branching. White flowers. Low productivity when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Mid-season maturing. Donated to SSE by William Woys Weaver (PA WE W) who acquired this variety from Peter Erlandsson (SWED ER P). Weaver described the variety as an "old marrowfat type from Vastergotland, ca. 1870."
