Butterhead. Forms a well-defined head. Yellow-green leaves have an undulating margin. Compact, medium-sized plants reach 5-8" tall, 11-14" in diameter at market maturity. Largest leaves 5-7" long, 5-7" wide. Tender, buttery leaves; slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Average time to maturity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. White seeds. Given to SSE by Heinz Neunteufl (AUST NE H) whose family has grown this variety since 1940. SSE Accession # 112307
