C. cantalupensis. Elongate fruit are yellow with green stripes and very smooth with moderate ribbing. Fruit measure 10.5-14 inches long, 4.75-6 inches in diameter, and weigh up to 7 pounds. Flesh is orange and about 1.25 inches thick. Fruit has a thin rind. Moderately vining plants. Average productivity when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. This is sweet, fruity, and tangy with a smooth texture. Harvest when still a bit firm and skin is slightly pale green. According to Orral Craig, the donor, the Botanists were looking for this one for 60 years. An excellent melon! Donated to SSE by Orral and Joan Craig (IL CR O) who indicated this variety dates to the 1800s. They acquired it in 1987 from Jim Fox (IN FO J). SSE Accession # 113045
