VEGETABLES / TOMATO
PINK-PURPLE
Very large, pink, beefsteak tomato. Indeterminate growth habit. Oblate with a strongly recessed stem end. Strong ribbing at stem end. Minor radial cracking. All fruit fasciated, cat-faced - often severely so. Fruit most often borne singly or in pairs. Slightly exserted stigmas. Regular leaves. Ripe fruit measure 2.5-3.5" long by 3.4-5.2" wide and weigh 7-20oz. Good flavor; floral and lightly acidic; nice balance of sweetness and acidity; medium firmness. Late maturing. Average productivity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by M.G. Sisk, likely during the 1980s. Sisk obtained the variety through the West Virginia Market Bulletin from a man who reportedly brought it to the U.S. from Germany. SSE Accession # 123006
